RECRUITMENT IN THE NEW NORMAL: COMMUNICATING THE CMC ADVANTAGE

Join Steve Kapner P'22, Co-founder and Managing Director of Aquent, Kristin Mannion P'22, Founder of Aura Leadership and Development, and Grace Koo, Managing Director, Human Captial at KKR, for a conversation on how CMCers can best communicate the CMC advantage in their internship and career search, and how you can support them in the process. We know that CMC students show themselves as leaders who dig deep and impact their communities, and that they chose CMC for its one-on-one relationships, unprecedented research opportunities, competitive teams, and tight-knit alumni network. Now, as they seek jobs in a challenging COVID-19 environment, these tools become even more vital as they work to stand out once again in an ultra-competitive marketplace. Hosted in conjunction with the Parent Network Board Career Development Committee and the Soll Center for Student Opportunity. Recruitment in the New Normal key takeaways

Student leaders play a range of impactful roles when on campus, and this remains true in our temporary virtual environment. Resident Assistants (RAs) can be friends and mentors. First Year Guides (FYGs) help new students as they adjust to college life and serve as a resource throughout the first year. CARE Center Fellows foster intercultural communication, leadership, and identity development. College Programming Board (CPB) members seek to organize inclusive, diverse, and engaging activities that keep students connected across the miles. View these important and determined students to learn more about their vital roles and how they work together to make a difference for all CMCers.

TEA AND CONVERSATION

For almost 40 years, students, faculty, and staff have enjoyed the daily ritual of stopping by the Athenaeum, the cultural heart of the CMC community, to grab a cup of tea, a cookie, or the hands-down favorite: Rice Krispie treats. In addition to sweet treats, "Ath Tea" goers enjoy the opportunity to relax and chat on a variety of topics. We joined Athenaeum Director Priya Junnar, and CMC Ambassador-at-Large John Faranda ’79, for this long-standing CMC tradition and met families from all over the globe for a discussion on culinary traditions that unite us. Learn more about how “breaking bread” together at the Athenaeum has shaped the CMC experience for our community. Each family registered received a box with a special edition Athenaeum cookbook, two Rice Krispies treats, and some delicious tea to brew and enjoy over engaging conversation.
