President Hiram E. Chodosh invites you
to join him, faculty, and trustees for an evening of conversation

Expanding Opportunity
in Pursuit of the Original Idea

The College is hosting a series of discussions on the fundamental commitment of Claremont McKenna College from its founding to the educational imperatives of our time. This is what Mabel Benson called The Original Idea. On this evening, we will focus on how best to expand and heighten opportunities in pursuit of the Original Idea. President Chodosh will pose a number of questions about the responsibilities of higher education to provide the vehicles for accelerating and expanding student opportunities for leadership, success, and upward mobility. With the help of other CMC leaders, he will describe the CMC Strategy for realizing our aspirations through the Student Imperative, the Kravis Opportunity Fund, the Soll Center for Student Opportunity, the expansion of interdisciplinary science and computer and data science at CMC, and the core learning objectives of the College’s liberal arts program and leadership mission.
