The Great Conversation returned this year as part of the Fall 2016 Forum for the Future Conference. Forum members hosted table discussions with college staff, faculty, and students to discuss student opportunities. Each table documented their discussion and summarized it for review in the Post-Conference Report.
This report also includes a record of the 11 events that occurred during the conference, Forum member feedback, and official business meeting minutes.
It is our hope that is report will offer valuable insights and help move the conversation forward in the days to come.
Opportunity Ignites Possibility
Take a moment to consider how the tremendous global and technological transformations, many of which have occurred in less than one lifetime, have influenced how you perceive and interact with the world around you. What impact have these developments had on CMC’s mission to educate students for thoughtful and productive lives and responsible leadership? Today’s young people have more resources and knowledge at their fingertips than any generation before them. They seek opportunities in the classroom, through co-curricular activities, and within the community that allow them to define and achieve their personal and professional goals. Forum for the Future will investigate the many ways CMC challenges and supports its ambitious student body—from enhanced programming in social innovation, to expanded internships, to new centers for diversity and inclusion and student opportunity—to advance the mission of the College. How does self-exploration through experiences at the College foster health, build community, create meaningful sources of happiness, and reinforce inclusion and social responsibility at the core of leadership?
