Fall sport athletes who are invited to participate in pre-season activities will arrive before the start of orientation depending on their NCAA allowable start date. Check with individual coaches for exact dates before making plans. Although there frequently are opportunities for parents to meet each other during the drop-off time, the official orientation program (including a special session for varsity athlete parents) is held on Thursday, August 28.
Tuesday-Wednesday, August 19-20: Host family program available for students participating in the Welcome Orientation Adventure! program
Thursday-Friday, August 21-22: New international student orientation for students participating in WOA!
Thursday, August 21: International parent orientation session (2 pm - 4 pm)
Saturday-Sunday, August 23-24: Host family program available for students not participating in WOA!
Monday-Wednesday, August 25-27: New international student orientation for students not participating in WOA!
Tuesday, August 26: International parent orientation session (2 pm - 4 pm)
Tuesday, August 26: International parent welcome dinner with the Community Friends of International Students (5:30 pm)
Wednesday, August 27: International parent welcome lunch at the Athenaeum (11:30 am)
Wednesday, August 27: International student and host family picnic dinner; international parents welcome (5:30 pm)
WOA! Trips, August 23-27
Students are strongly encouraged to participate in the Welcome Orientation Adventure! program, which joins freshmen with returning student leaders for a variety of engaging trips centered around group bonding. Students participating in WOA! must arrive at CMC on Saturday, August 23 between 12:00 pm and 5:00 pm.
Wednesday, August 27
Move-in day begins at 1:00 pm, students must be present to pick up their keys. Parents are not allowed to pick up keys, no exceptions. Parent Orientation check-in is from 1:00- 5:00 pm.
Thursday, August 28
A full day of orientation seminars and activities are planned, including dorm lunches and the opening assembly. An optional parent dinner is served at the Athenaeum while the students are at dorm barbeques. “Good-bye time” ends at 7:00 pm, after which all parents are expected to depart campus for the weekend.
