CMC Announces New Kravis Department of Integrated Sciences

Claremont McKenna College announced at a Board of Trustees meeting the naming of its new Kravis Department of Integrated Sciences. The department, rooted in CMC’s foundational liberal arts and leadership mission, is unique in its approach to organizing science education around grand socio-scientific challenges, leveraging computation as a powerful vehicle for discovery and systemic solutions, and integrating CMC’s core strengths in the social sciences and humanities.

Prof. Wendy Lower further explores Holocaust history in her recent award-winning book, “The Ravine.” After discovering a photograph depicting a mass shooting of Ukrainian Jews, Lower deployed various methods to trace the victims’ stories, locate the killers, and reveal an unlikely hero—the photographer himself.

Kevin Lynch ’17 and Miriam Cruz ’15 topped the Forbes 30 Under 30 List of promising young entrepreneurs, chosen by editors, reporters, and expert judges from tens of thousands of nominations.
