Economist and noted heterodox thinker Glenn Loury joined Prof. Michael Fortner for a conversation on “Race and Commerce: The American Experience,” as part of the College’s 75^th Anniversary Distinguished Speaker series at the Athenaeum.

As part of CMC’s 75^th Anniversary Distinguished Speaker series at the Athenaeum, influential economist Daron Acemoglu shared lessons based on his research, highlighting the theme of “Civilization and Commerce,” emphasizing how to build and share prosperity.

In “Democracy as a Debate,” historian and legal scholar Martha S. Jones highlighted the theme, “Unity and Division,” as part of CMC’s 75^th Anniversary Distinguished Speaker series at the Athenaeum.

The 7C Interfaith Dinner brought together religious communities for a discussion on how to strengthen faith and religious interactions and traditions. “Your presence, your openness to one another and courage in sharing experiences so that we can all learn from them, is momentous,” said President Hiram Chodosh.

Heather Ferguson and Jon Shields are the inaugural faculty co-directors of The Open Academy, CMC’s critical response to the educational imperative of our time: overcoming what divides us to solve the world’s most challenging problems.

Prof. Dan Krauss was recently honored with the Outstanding Teaching and Mentoring Award for 2022 from the American Psychology-Law Society. His nomination was supported by letters from several colleagues and former students.

Meet the four environmentally focused student leaders who have earned CMC Sustainability Fund grants for projects that benefit the entire community and reduce the College’s carbon footprint. While challenging herself academically, Robin Peterson ’22 is rounding out her experience at CMC. She’s in ROTC, a research assistant at the Rose Institute, vice president of the Outdoor Initiative club, and a pole vaulter and javelin thrower for CMS.

The CMS men’s tennis team defeated Pomona-Pitzer 7-2 at the Biszantz Family Tennis Center on April 16 in a battle between teams that came into the match tied for first in the SCIAC at 5-0, clinching the program’s 15th straight regular season title, a streak which dates back to 2006.
