President Hiram E. Chodosh welcomed the CMC community at the 76^th Annual Convocation, the official opening of the new academic year. Chodosh asked the packed audience of students, faculty, and staff for “personal, mutual commitment” as “the big moments in our future history are dependent on the small ones.”

The Athenaeum debuted earlier this month and the fall schedule spans an impressive speakers lineup of distinguished journalists, industry leaders, influential historians, and award-winning poets and artists. Three new Athenaeum Fellows are hosting the speakers’ visits as CMCers engage their intellectual curiosity at the iconic venue.

Opportunities to give back, make friends, and develop an interest were featured during CMC’s Campus Engagement Fair. CMC first-year students gathered to sample activities on display from more than 60 student clubs and organizations at the fair.

Dana Villasenor ’24 has taken advantage of the many offerings CMC provides—from being a Dunbar Fellow to studying abroad in Austria. She plans to lead a “life with empathy” by pursuing a career that will make a positive impact on the community.

Ramon Torres ’08 has explored a variety of careers since graduating from CMC—ranging from investment banking to movie production. And he’s not done yet. CMC prepared Torres to handle all those transitions with grace and agility.

The Ted Ducey CMS Hall of Fame Class of 2023 is set and 12 Athenas and Stags have been chosen for induction at the Hall of Fame Ceremony in Roberts Pavilion.
