In honor of Prof. Marc Massoud P’89, the Kravis Living Room was renamed The Massoud in a ceremony celebrating his profound influence. Along with Massoud’s family, three CMC presidents, faculty, staff, alumni, and current students paid tribute to the beloved accounting professor.

Co-authoring a research paper as an undergraduate is a rare feat at most institutions, but not at CMC. Prof. Angela Vossmeyer recognized and encouraged the data analysis talents of Someswar Amujala ’23.

Michael Gadinis ’24 has been selected as one of 100 “Obama-Chesky Voyager Scholars.” A host of benefits comprise the newly launched scholarship, including financial aid, funding for a “summer voyage” before senior year, and travel credits for 10 years after graduation.

During her time at CMC, Valentina Gonzalez ’23 has experienced the value of a small liberal arts college. From studying abroad to supporting fellow first-generation and Latinx community members to attending Athenaeum lectures, “I cherish all these experiences,” she said.

With its roots in this country’s founding, the Electoral College is a distinctively American mechanism for selecting a president. With the midterms days away and a presidential election looming, two legal scholars—Ilan Wurman ’09 and Aditya Pai ’13—debated the Electoral College’s pros and cons.

As California voters research the 2022 ballot propositions, they can consult the nonpartisan Rose Institute Video Voter Guide. Produced by a team of Rose students, crafting these easy-to-understand explanations also presents a valuable learning opportunity.

CMC is getting the Fiesta treatment, as designers and builders will soon begin constructing CMC’s entry in the Jan. 2, 2023 Rose Parade presented by Honda, the first for CMC and The Claremont Colleges.

Former longtime CMS men’s golf Coach Raymond “Bim” Jollymour, who in 2016 led the Stags to their first NCAA Division III national championship in program history, died on September 23. He was 85.

The CMC community came together to top last year’s 1946 Challenge record with 2,251 donors, representing 46 states and eight countries.
