Rare Rose Parade Opportunities
CMCers have the rare opportunity to join the annual Rose Parade, either by decorating CMC’s float entry, or enjoying the parade day and/or the iconic Rose Bowl® football game in person. Plus, all CMCers can take part by adopting a rose to fund student scholarships.
Reflecting on 1996 Rose Parade
Isabelle Bibbler Parker ’96 led a team of youth vaulters and their horses in the Rose Parade more than 25 years ago as a CMC senior. She vividly remembers the chilly day, the thorny logistics, but mostly – the thrill of processing down Colorado Boulevard.
CMCer has Long History with Rose Parade
For nearly three decades, Mark Leavens ’83 has devoted his life to the Rose Parade. And in just two years, he’ll take the helm as president of the Tournament of Roses®. This year is especially meaningful to Leavens as his alma mater, Claremont McKenna, has been selected to enter a float in the parade.
Taking the CMC Float for a Test Drive
With mere weeks to go before Claremont McKenna College’s Rose Parade float rolls down Colorado Boulevard on Jan. 3, 2023, the craftspeople at Fiesta Parade Floats are working around the clock to get the float “street-ready.”
Adopt-A-Rose: Support Student Scholarships
Join CMC's Rose Parade festivities and invest in student scholarships when you Adopt-a-Rose! Each gift will represent a rose on CMC’s float and can be made in honor or memory of someone important to you. As year-end approaches, give back to CMC this season!
