Join the Orange County Chapter, alumni, parents, and friends for an evening with Professor Manfred Keil, associate professor of economics, as he discusses the current state and future of the U.S. economy.

Currently, the U.S. economy is setting a record for length of expansion since the Second World War. After The Great Recession, which began in 2007 and saw a sharp decline in economic activity, an economic boom followed and has lasted ten years. This economic growth exceeds the previous record set during the Clinton administration. The Wall Street Journal recently conducted a survey of professional economists from Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Barclays, among others, which concludes a high likelihood of a recession in the year 2020. Join Professor Keil, who leads a forecast team at the Lowe Institute of Political Economy at CMC, as he walks you through the various indicators and what helps economists predict recessions.
